nessMediaCenter serves as a good replacement for Apple's Front Row. It comes with many interesting features, including a familiar design. Front Row users will feel right at home with this application. You can use it, just like Front Row, with a nearby TV or directly on your Mac. The application works with various media types and media devices.

As you would expect, the software displays its user interface in full screen mode, to make your Mac feel like a true media center. You can use your keyboard to navigate through various options, for playing media files from your iTunes library, accessing your pictures or videos folders or for accessing your local dries and navigating through your files and folders. Besides playing local media files, it is also possible to connect to various online TV channels, live or otherwise.

nessMediaCenter provides full support for DLNA connections. What's more, the application lets you use an iPhone or an iPod Touch as a remote control. As previously mentioned, it can play all sorts of media types. This includes pictures, music, video DVDs, EyeTV movies and much more.

The application places various controls at your disposal, when you play your media files. You can switch between normal or endless playback modes, sort your files by name or path, change the video aspect ratio, select languages or other options from DVD menus and so on.
